About Us
Anhanguera-Uniderp University offers Graduate Program in Environment and Regional Development, by means of courses for master’s and doctoral degrees.
The program promotes in-depth training of teachers and researchers for the development of academic activities and professionals of high level, in addition to developing systematic studies and advanced research, stimulating the scientific production and the perfect harmony between the environment and sustainable development.
Target Audience
Holders of diploma in the following areas: Interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, Administration, Agronomy, Architecture, Biological Science, Applied Social Science, Social Communication, Ecology, Economy, Education, Engineering, Law, Pharmacy, Geography, Geology, Languages, Mathematics, Veterinary Medicine, Chemistry, Tourism and Zootechnics. At the discretion of the Collegiate of the Course and with consent of a potential advisor, candidates with major in other areas might be accepted. For doctoral candidates the minimum requirement is the master’s degree.
Goals
Empower professionals to develop activities aimed at sustainable development; seek integration with the community, businesses and environmental control agencies seeking to deepen the studies and knowledge for the improvement of the quality of life and to broaden the knowledge to subsidize the formulation and implementation of public and private policies aimed at environmental conservation and regional development, with emphasis on the biomes of Cerrado and Pantanal.

Fields of Research
The Program has a fields of research in Biodiversity and Sustainable Development of Pantanal and Cerrado.
Research Topics
Society, Environment and Sustainable Regional Development: Establishes a dialog between the social and Natural Science, taking as assumptions the notions of complexity in ecological thinking and sustainable regional development. Elaborates theoretical studies and develops alternative techniques in social and environmental areas, including the conservation of biodiversity and other natural resources, health , economic, social, including cultural; Carries out studies on the local economic activities and their environmental impacts; on bioprospecting of fauna and flora of Pantanal and Cerrado; on the environmental public policies, including education and health, and on the Associated Socio-Cultural implications, aiming to overcome the detected problems, thus contributing to the conservation of nature and the local cultural forms.
